Minister to Adults/Associate Pastor MeyerThis Enews is unapologetically to the men of CHS. Ladies, please read it and forward it to your sweetheart or friend, but I want every man at CHS to consider doing something:

Take a day off work and go fishing.

Yes, that’s what I said. Go fishing….or four-wheeling…or kayaking…or play corn hole…or any number of a dozen activities we are going to be doing on the Men’s Advance this year, September 15-17 at Mac Miller’s farm.

Men, here is something else to consider:

What are you doing to build your wingspan?

No, not that kind of wingspan.

At Men’s Advance, Tim Henderson will be pointing us to the “Wingspan” of Christ. He is excellent at loving in the here and now with the immediate needs we are facing in our lives. And He is excellent at loving us in ways that will matter for all eternity. He wants us not just to experience both wings of His love, but express both wings to the world around us.

Too often, men, we can get comfortable and caught up in our own world and forget about the bigger influence we can, and should, have around us. The cares of life begin to take away one of our main purposes as believers in being “salt and light” in this world. (Matt 5:13-16) Come to the Men’s Advance and be challenged in this area.

Make arrangements at work, sweet talk your wife, and warn the kids… then make plans to be with us. Even with record setting rain last year, it was an unbelievable time of recreation, fellowship, good-eats, and prayer. This year we are praying for clear skies and planning for even more men. The event starts Thursday night after work, September 15, so don’t forget to ask off work Friday, September 16. We can enjoy an entire extended weekend together and still be home by Saturday afternoon.

Also, begin to think about inviting an un-churched friend. This is an easy, super-fun, event that could introduce him to Jesus and a bunch of guys who are believers.

More information to come, but please mark your calendar. Registration will open in the next couple weeks online.

Here is last year’s promo video to remind you of the fun:
