Quigg Lawrence

Bishop/Senior Pastor

Quigg leads CHS with lots of love and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He loves people and has a unique ability to find something in common with pretty much anyone on the planet. He was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and became a follower of Jesus in 1980. Quigg attributes the beginning of his faith to an honest conversation with a fellow surfer, Basic Christianity by John Stott, a children’s Bible (sometimes simplicity says it best!), and a season of personal brokenness. Ever since, he has attempted to translate head knowledge into heart knowledge and live a transformed life.

A student of things as diverse as Bluegrass music, hair pomade, Mt. Everest, and Romanian icons, Quigg studied at a variety of colleges, finally graduating with his doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was consecrated on February 4, 2013, as a bishop of the Anglican Church of Rwanda and the Anglican Church of North America. Quigg’s passion for missions has led him to church planting in 4 countries and establishing new Young Life areas stateside.

Quigg and his wife Annette have been married since 1986. They are a powerful team as they partner in life, ministry, and feeding uninvited guests. Quigg admiringly jokes that he is the one who makes the friends and Annette is the one who keeps them.

Outside of church, you can find Quigg in action pursuing one of his many hobbies: hunting, cycling, any sport where you can hit something, photography, doing admissions for the United States Naval Academy, web surfing, bluegrass music, and napping (all that activity deserves some rest!). In his past life, Quigg was an Eagle Scout, EMT Paramedic, and award-winning outdoor sports show host.
