Back to Blog

What are you doing during the 10 am hour on Sunday mornings? So often during the summer months, many of us are on vacation and/or traveling. But, now that school is back in full force, we want to re-invite everyone to come participate in one of our great Sunday School offerings. Listed below is a short description of each class to help you see what we have to offer. Some classes are already meeting; others will begin on September 8 or at a later date.

Tim Harris Adult Sunday School Class: Room M306

Tim has been one of our most faithful and longest running adult Sunday school teachers here at Church of the Holy Spirit. He loves to take his class through an inductive study style going through different books of the Bible. His class works to understand the information of each passage of scripture, as well as take that information and apply it to our lives. They will be diving into Paul’s letters, starting with Galatians, this Sunday Sept. 8. This class meets throughout the year.

New Adult Sunday School Class by Andrew Juliot: Room M303

Andrew and Stephanie Juliot have just moved back to the area after finishing their master’s degrees in theology. You may recognize Stephanie as one the Karras’ daughters. They are excited to be offering a new class on the Psalms. The name of this class is “Songs of the Soul.” It is designed to cultivate the emotional and experiential side of our spiritual lives by looking at how God guides us in the Psalms. Whether we find ourselves in seasons of sorrow or joy, the Psalms give us rich models and robust mindsets for directing our emotions to God. This class is set to begin on Sunday Sept. 8.

Tim Henderson Adult Foundations Class: Church Sanctuary for now

Tim Henderson teaches an on-going class that walks through a wide range of theological topics. This is a very interactive, lecture style class that also provides some large and small group discussion. Tim’s class meets throughout the year. To start the Fall off, they will be exploring marriage. Once that topic is over, they will continue to move on to various theological and biblical issues and topics.

Women’s Studies: Various Rooms

Our Women’s Ministry is offering three studies this semester that meet during the 10 AM hour. “Psalm 40” will begin on September 15th, a new study called “Bible Study 101” begins on October 6th, and “When God?” starts on November 3rd. These women-specific studies always cover a wide variety of topics but always seek to make the topic hands-on for discipleship and the Christian life. We offer Gospel-centered ministry for kids ages birth – 6th grade. This is more than childcare; our loving teachers work to help our kids grow into healthy disciples, no matter their age. You can click here to learn more about all of our children’s 10 AM offerings.

For our 7th – 12th graders, we offer a home cooked breakfast. Each week there is time to chill with friends, play some foosball, ping-pong and air hockey, then a short bible teaching and devotional. You can click here to learn more about our Student Ministry.
