You definitely will want to come to church this Sunday to meet or re-meet our lead bishop and his lovely wife Sally. Bishop Steve was raised in Tyler, Texas, and his family worked the land hard, growing beautiful roses that were sold all over the country. Rumor has it, he was driving heavy farm equipment when he was only seven years old! +Steve attended W&L and met Christ through the ministry of Young Life.

+Steve and Sally have had a long and vibrant ministry. He pastored a non-denom church with 2500 members and eventually yearned for a church that had an emphasis on both Word and Sacrament . . . a church that had outside accountability.

In 2001, Steve and Sally became Anglicans. They have written a book together, The Shame Exchange – Trading Shame for God’s Mercy and Freedom (2009), on the subjects of shame and guilt. Sally is a very gifted and experienced Spiritual Director. She also is one of the best cooks and most hospitable people I have met.

The Breedloves planted a dynamic church (All Saints) in Durham. +Steve and Sally have more kids and grandkids then I can count, and his son Steven is our church planter in Richmond. For the last six years he has led our diocese well and has created a healthy ministry reaching out to next generation leaders, immigrants, and many others. He has overseen planting churches from Boston to North Carolina.

Please join us for this special opportunity to hear him preach and worship with him.

Peace,

+Quigg
