Please Read – New Giving Platform

We would like to introduce our new online and text giving platform, called Tithe.ly. It is replacing our current online and text giving provider, SecureGive.

You are able to make the switch to Tithe.ly now. We will run SecureGive and Tithe.ly concurrently through March 31, 2019 to give you time to move your giving account to Tithe.ly.

Recurring givers are reminded to delete their SecureGive account once they set up their Tithe.ly account.

We have made this change after much review. We found Tithe.ly to be much less expensive than our current processor, while also offering more services such as easy payment during online event registration. Many of you have already used Tithe.ly when making payments for several CHS events this fall.

We also will have a new CHS app using Tithe.ly available shortly. This too will offer several advantages over our current app provider. We will let you know when the new app is available.

To make the switch, click here. Click on the “Give via Tithe.ly” green button to sign up. Text givers please text “Give” to 540-426-3321.

Call Julia at CHS or email julia@chsroanoke.com with concerns. Thank you for your time in making this switch. We think you will be pleased with this new giving platform!

Meet the Pastors Coffee – January 20

Are you visiting Church of the Holy Spirit for the first time? Have you been visiting for quite a while but want to learn more about the mission and vision of our church? Do you have some basic or perhaps more intentional questions about who Church of the Holy Spirit is?

Then, come to our Meet the Pastors Coffee on Sunday, January 20th (note date change). We meet after each service so come to either the 10-10:40am or 12:30-1pm gathering in Room M237. Get to know the pastors as well as learn about the 5 G’s, the building blocks of our Vision and Mission. You will hear some of the history of our church and learn about our missional focus and Anglican history. Finally, we will end with a time of Questions and Answers. This first step is easy, engaging and who can say no to good coffee and dessert?

No registration is required, just show up. Email Brian Morgan if you want more information or have any questions.

Register for New Member’s Class

Inclement Weather Policy

Week Days

When Roanoke County Schools (RCS) announce a change in their schedule due to inclement weather, CHS’ activity schedule is changed as well.

IF RCS are:

  • canceled, CHS activities are canceled.
  • delayed 1 hour, CHS activities starting at 9:00 am are delayed 1 hour.
  • delayed 2 hours, CHS MORNING activities are canceled.
  • dismissed early, CHS AFTERNOON and EVENING activities are canceled.

Please note that if the streets are drivable on a day that RCS has canceled classes and CHS events are canceled, the church staff will report to work and may still honor individual office appointments. Please call 772-4915 to confirm the office is open and a specific staff member is available.

If there is inclement weather, one person from each group event will call the church office to find out if the event will be held. NOTE: The Church Staff reserves the right to cancel afternoon and evening events.

Week Day Evenings

If inclement weather is predicted for an evening that RCS was not canceled or dismissed early, a decision will be made no later than 4:00 pm whether an event will be canceled. Information will be posted on our voice message system and Facebook page, and also relayed through email.

Saturdays

If inclement weather is predicted, a decision will be made by the Rector and communicated as early as possible on the church’s voice message system and Facebook page.

Sundays

If inclement weather is predicted, refer to television channels 7 or 10, or check their websites at wdbj7.com or wsls.com.  If we are listed, our services are canceled.

*Please note: The only exception to this policy would be Celebrate Recovery. Due to the unique mission of CR and the importance of their weekly meetings to sustained recovery, a separate policy will be developed for CR in concert with the Church Administrator. A separate communication system will be established to announce any meetings that are in variance with the regular church policy.
