I will spare you my corny April Fool’s joke. But I do have two important things to share:
First, some incredible news. We have dreamed up a way to all meet together on Easter to worship in person but safely and the Governor’s office has approved it, TWICE!
We will all meet in the CHS parking lot on Easter Sunday, April 12th at 9 and 11 am. Note the first service is at 9 am!!
WFIR radio will be onsite to broadcast our service live on 960 AM and 107.3 FM
The praise band and pastors will be on a flatbed trailed in the parking lot spread out. Folks will need to remain in their cars but can crank the music and sermon on their radio while looking at the same stunning mountain view we see each Sunday.
This is going to be epic. A spirit-filled, God-honoring time that we will never forget. Invite your friends. Come ready to worship and give thanks. And yes, we will take a “no touch” offering!
Secondly, I am not a trained scientist, but common sense tells me that the C-Virus is growing exponentially and invisibly so it is VITAL that we be wise and not interact in person in the next month or so. I am an extrovert; I crave in person community and hanging out BUT the next month or so, aside from parking lot worship in our cars, we need to shelter. My 56-year-old friend, Bishop Steve Wood spent the last 11 days on a ventilator and thankfully has just turned the corner. He is extremely fit, and the virus paid no attention to that. Love your neighbor. Love your family. Love yourself. Viruses are invisible and spread faster than gossip. Be smart and SHELTER.
PS – Pray for friends in the medical field who are serving selflessly and are exhausted. Send them a text with a prayer or thank you.
