Darcy Funk

Children's Ministry Director

Darcy by far has the best last name of all CHS staff. Never in a funk, but always funky, Darcy is a vibrant leader of the children’s ministry. Her excitement about Jesus and enthusiasm for loving children are contagious both in her work at CHS and in other areas of her life. Darcy is passionate about children and families and has a special place in her heart for orphans.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Darcy grew up as the third of four girls. Her father was of course lucky to live with such a large group of women and her family was close-knit. Sick of the frigid north, Darcy moved south in college to attend Clemson University, where she studied business and encouraged Tiger victories as a cheerleader.

Darcy and her husband met in 5th grade and are the proud parents to four children and two dogs. Their motto is “more is better” and they love nothing more than a full house. This spirit of hospitality and inclusivity led them to adopt their youngest son from Ukraine. They were blessed to spend extended time loving the “least of these” in the orphanage and were forever changed as a result.
